TITLE:
Does the title fit well with the subject and lyrics in the song? |
Yes. It cleverly keeps the listener asking why until the story unfolds. |
MELODY: |
The song is constructed of several melodies that flow seamlessly from one to the next whilst keeping the song up beat. |
STORY:
Feedback on the songwriter’s ability to tell the story: |
I enjoyed the lyrics. It is a tale of optimism and hope. It tells us that though we teach our children about life, they can teach us too. |
LYRICS:
How are the rhyming patterns? |
Though not everything rhymed perfectly, I consider this a bonus and a sign of a confident songwriter who knows what he is doing. |
Comments on Lyric Sheet submitted |
No lyric sheet was attached. |
Does the lyric tell the story? |
Yes it does. Yet the sentences are kept short and easy to sing along with for the listener. |
Chorus notes |
Chorus is catchy and comes around several times. I like how it ends each time with the song title which adds extra relevance to the title. |
SONG STRUCTURE: |
Song has an intro and an outro and a lot going on in between. Evidently Gioia has planned his structure well at the pre recording stage. He uses the verses as storyline and as the build up to the hook. The outro introduces a whole new backing vocal angle to lead the song out and give the audience something new to listen to just at the right moment. |
Production: |
Excellent production. |
Marketability: |
This song definitely has a wide audience appeal. The universal wish for simpler times is growing stronger every day. That movement makes this song a great crossover tune. Modern technology being used as a tool to retrieve the past. |
FINAL COMMENTS/REVIEW: |
The sound is the 80s but the lyrical sentiment is from the 60s and now it's from the 2000's also. |
